Bishop Broderick Alan Huggins
Bishop Broderick A. Huggins, Sr. is the proud Pastor of 24 years at the Saint Paul Baptist Church in Oxnard, California. He is sought after as an anointed evangelist, a revivalist, and is considered a 'Pastor to Pastors.'
During his 40 years of pastoral leadership, Pastor Huggins was first called to pastor at age 22 and founded the Abundant Life Christian Center (Stockton, CA), where he served for two years. After which, he answered the call to evangelism and traveled throughout the country and abroad for three years.
Pastor Huggins was called to pastor the New Testament Baptist Church (Wichita, KS) in 1984. During his three-year tenure, he successfully grew church membership from 60 to well over 600, while building a 700-seat sanctuary.
A devoted father and grandfather, Bishop Huggins and his wife, Toni make their home in the city of Oxnard.In 1988, Pastor Huggins returned to Northern California and accepted the pastorate of the Del Paso Union Baptist Church (Sacramento, CA), where again, the church membership grew from 100 to well over 300 members.
His proven track record of church growth and administration prepared this visionary leader for the pastoral assignment of the Saint Paul Baptist Church (Oxnard, CA) in 1990, where church membership has grown exponentially, from 300 to 1000 members.
An advocate of higher learning, Bishop Huggins earned a Bachelor of Theology, a Master of Theology, and an honorary Doctorate from the Mt Zion Bible Institute in Sacramento, California; a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from California Lutheran University; a Ph.D. in Religious Philosophy from Logos Theological Seminary (1996); and a Ph.D. in Theology from Sacramento Theological Seminary (2002).
In 1995, Dr. Huggins founded the Saint Paul Seminary and Bible Institute, where he currently serves as President and Principal Professor. To date, over 70 students, from lay persons, ministry leaders, and Pastors have graduated from the programs in California and Florida.
Under Bishop Huggins' vision and leadership, Saint Paul has completed the building of a 22,000 sq. ft. Family Life Center, and is now in the process of building a 18,000 sq. ft. sanctuary with the capacity to seat 1200. Upon completion of the new sanctuary, the Family Life Center will house a myriad of programs, including a charter school that, will serve a diverse community.
